NAGPUR: The writings and compositions of Swami Vivekananda are relevant for building a responsible youth force. With this conviction, the final round of interschool group singing competition was successfully conducted by Ramkrishna Math at its Dhantoli premises.
The event was held to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
The preliminary rounds were held at five zones — east, west, north, south and central— of the city in second week of December.

More than 900 students from 60 prominent schools participated. The winners from zonal level competed in the final rounds for the Vivekananda trophy.
The prizes were awarded by president of Ramkrishna Math’s Nagpur branch Swami Brahmasthanand and other senior Swami Akmanand. Sandipani School bagged the Vivekananda trophy and cash prize of Rs 5,001. Bhavan’s BP Vidya Mandir, Shrikrishna Nagar, was second winning Rs 3,001, Hadas high school third winning Rs 2,001 and Hindu Mulinchi Shala and Pandit Bachhraj Vyas Vidyalaya won consolation prize of Rs 1,001 each.
All participants were given a booklet ‘Amrut Sandesh’ and table-photograph of Swami Vivekananda.
